2018 Fleeces for Sale

Here are the skirted fleeces that are still available from this spring's shearing.  Weights, descriptions and prices are given. Canada Post seems to be the most viable shipping option - obviously costs vary based on distance, but last year averaged about $25.  Note: I will be able to transport fleeces to Victoria and possibly connect with folks in the Lower Mainland en route.

Gotland/ BFL Lamb 4E
This is a lamb fleece from a Gotland/BFL cross.  It is almost black in colour, very lustrous with a lovely silky hand. I divided the fleece in half down centre back from neck to tail.

Gotland/BFL Lamb 3E

This is another beautiful lamb fleece from 4E's twin sister.  Very dark, long staples (6 inches) very lustrous, very silky and soft. (It is as dark as the fleece above, but shows up as charcoal in this photo.)

I have not divided this fleece in half but that is a possibility.

Gotland fleece
From one of my registered Gotland ewes, Susie Q, this  fleece is a light gray colour which is lovely in itself or can be overdyed to achieve some complex colour interactions.  6"staples, great lustre with a lovely silky hand when washed. This is 1/2 of the total fleece, the other half has already been sold.

 Gotland/BFL Fleece

Victoria is a Gotland/BFL cross ewe and personally I think that this is the best of both worlds for fibre enthusiasts. The fleece is still open, lustrous and silky but is just a bit softer.  I have only one white fleece from this cross so it is a bit of a rarity.  This photo does not do it justice- I will try and replace it as soon as I can.

Gotland Lamb Fleece "Birch"

This fleece is a stunning colour with staples that are approx. 6" with beautiful lustre and hand. 
BUT, I am heavily discounting this fleece because there is some matting which will require more care and attention in processing to produce a quality product. IF you are someone who does not mind the extra time committment, then this is a steal!

 Gotland Ewe fleece 38A

I hand clipped this fleece in the fall of last year.  It is very clean and very soft and very beautiful.  Staples are approximately 3.5-4" long because this ewe was sheared in the spring as well.

3.1 lbs @ 22 = $68.00

This is a California Varigated Mutant or CVM cross lamb fleece.  It is a down type of fleece with blunt staples and very fine crimp.  The fleece spins up to make a lovely soft dark brown yarn.  
2.45 lbs@ $12/lb = $30

Gotland fleece from ewe 5A. This fleece always sells well, as it is a beautiful shade of gray and a lovely hand.  Staples are 6" plus, lustrous and silky.
